Ever heard of a Top 10 list? Well, this is similar, except there are just 7 topics! What are seven important things that happened in your most recent reading.

You will order your list based on your personal opinion of the importance of each seven; the most important
event will be your "#1" event, but it is the one you write last on your list. Start with "#7," which means you’re starting with the least important of the important events.

Remember to use complete sentences! Remember to let us know the title and author of the book.

#7: Ponyboy gets sick, but tells his gang not to tell Darry, the older brother, so he can fight in the rumble.
#6: The greasers win the rumble, but Pony gets very sick
#5: Pony takes a walk to cool off, and meets up with his friend, Johnny. Johnny and Pony sit in the yard, smoking like chimneys, and talk about their lives, but they doze off, out in the open, as vulnerable as a baby. They wake up at 3:00 am, and realize what time it is, and run home. Johnny's parents don't care about him as much, but Ponyboy's brothers really look out for him. When Pony got home, Darry was waiting for him. Soda brought it to him nicely, saying that they were worried. Darry yelled at Soda to stop being nice, but Pony yelled at Darry, and Darry hit Ponyboy.
#4: Pony was in shock. Nobody in his family had ever hit him before, but before Darry could apologize, Pony was out the door. He was running away.
#3: Pony saw Johnny, and told him the plan, but Johnny took him to the courtyard to cool off, but they weren't alone. A blue mustang pulled up, containing 4 socs. Johnny had been jumped by these guys before, and always had a knife handy. 1 of the socs grabbed Ponyboy by the arm, twisted it around his back, and shoved his face in the fountain. He couldn't breathe, and he was sure he was going to die.
#2: Pony was struggling for his life, but finally he was let free. All of a sudden he was free, and saw 3 socs running away. Then he saw Johnny, looking down. There laid the body of the soc, on his stomach, with a knife in his back. Johnny had killed him.
#1: It wasn't long until the cops showed up, so they ran to the bar. They asked they're gang member for help, and he sent them away with a gun, money, and food. They ran to the train, and hopped on right before the cops showed up. They had escaped, but there was no going back.

Book Name: Big Mouth & Ugly Girl
Author: joyce Carol Oates

#7 I think that because Matt got in trouble for threatning to blow up the whole school he found out that his friends are not really good friends because what he suspended from school for 3 days, they didnt help him or talk to him of even email him in his time of his suspention time.

#6 I think when Trevor Cassity andnhis gang of other jocks beats Matt up he thinks that it is a good idea to keep it a secret from his parents. In the time Pumpkin (Matt's dog) is missing he tells Ursula that he was beat up and she cared for him so she webt over to him and theratened him if he didn;t return the dog before 4:00 pm that day.

#5 When Ursula and Matt start dating because she is a big part of hius live and he is a big part of her life.

#4 I think that when Matt's dog goes missing and Ursula helps him she meets his mom and she falls in love with him.

#3 When we find out that it was the two brewster sisters who told the principal that Matt had threatened to blow up the school and kill as many people as he could.

#2 I think that Matt and Ursula falling in love is important because, in the beggining of the book Ursula didn't like Matt that much but since she helped him not have to go to jail he saw that she was not a bad person and he liked that she was the only person out of all his friends she was the one to help him.

#1 I think when he attempts to kiss Ursula because they had made such a strong bond over the time he was in trouble and they were just ment for eachother.

I read The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
#7 Stephen's grandpa die a the beginning of the novel. This was important because his grandfather was half of the family he had left. Throughout the book he often recalls traits or lessons from his grandfather.

#6 The sixth most important event was when and his father were hiding in a broken helicopter. Then strange men came in and they had to hide. the men were slavers and had two captives. Once the slavers fell asleep Stephen and his dad set the two captives free but were caught afterwards. They ran trying to escape in a huge storm, and Stephen's father fell off a ledge into a river and falls into a coma.

He shoots at them but then gets knocked out by the stock of a gun. When he wakes up he is surrounded by these strange men. They offer to bring he and his father to safety. At first he turns them down because he didn't trust them, but then he realized they were his only option. So they take him to Settler's Landing

#4 Stephen gets into a fight with Will Henry at school is the fourth most important event in the novel. Will Henry's father is one of the most important men at Settler's Landing. Will wants Steve gone and this is the beginning of his plan to get him out. This is a turning point for Stephen's place in Settler's Landing.

#3 When Jenny and Steve play a prank on the Henry's it goes horribly wrong. The Henry's thought it was spies from a nearby settlement called Fort Leonard. This causes them to hire mercenaries to go to war with Fort Leonard.

#2 The second most important event was when Stephen and Jenny try to eliminate some of the mercenaries weapons. (This was after the mercenaries turned on Settler's Landing). They sneak up to their camp and Jenny distracts them while Steven gets a grenade. He blows up 3 of their cars and the both run away

#1 The main event was when the real war between the mercenaries and Settler's Landing begun. There was gunfire and bombs thrown, chaos and terror loomed in the air. After a long time Settler's Landing forced them to retreat but were left with lots of damage

Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer

#7

One of Hope's good friends Braverman, gets beat up by three people that are against G.T.'s campaign for mayor. Everyone in the diner feels really sorry for Braverman, but he doesn't give up. Even though he isn't supposed to leave his house, Braverman attends a church picnic that is in honor of G.T.'s campaign. Everyone sees how committed Braverman is and follows in his footsteps.

#6

Since Hope is working at a new diner, she has to show everyone how good of a waitress she really is. Once Hope starts working at the diner for a little while, everyone starts to realize how good of a waitress she is. Hope has waitressing in her blood, her mother has been a waitress her entire life. Hope doesn’t care about the tip, all she cares about is making the customer happy.

#5

Hope moves from the big city of New York to a small town in Wisconsin. This is a big change for Hope, but she is also used to moving. She has moved so many times with her Aunt since she was born. But going from New York to Wisconsin wont be easy for Hope.

#4

Hope’s aunt Addie decides to marry G.T. , the owner of the diner that her and Hope work at. G.T. has leukemia and doesn’t have much time left to live. This is a huge step for everyone. This would mean that G.T is Hope’s father because Addie adopted Hope when she was born because Hope’s mother couldn’t take care of her. Knowing that your “father” might die soon is not something that a sixteen year old should have to worry about.

#3

G.T. decides to run for mayor. Now G.T. has leukemia and shouldn’t have this much pressure on him, but he wants to be mayor before he dies. Instead of lying around all day and being depressed, G.T. goes around all day campaigning and being joyful. Everyone who is around G.T. can’t help but be happy.

#2

When G.T. dies, everyone in the town is so sad and cannot believe that such a great man left them so soon. G.T. was making a better path for the town but then died. The entire mood of the story shifted and it made the reader feel bad for Hope and Addie.

#1

When G.T. wins the election for mayor, everyone is so happy that they could help get a man who deserved it get elected for a position that needed him. The entire diner is full with people who are so happy for G.T.

#7 Throughout the story, there is a very strict person, who is the main character's boss as a tie salesman.

#6 The main people in this story have some unusual traits, on the inside, plus on the outside.

#5 The main characters in this book are not the most popular people at school.

#5 The kids from my story can be a bit rebellious. For example, they sometimes ignore teachers when they are told to do something.

#3 During some parts of the story, the kids are getting bullied because of their shape, size, and personality.

#2 Because of that, they try to end bullying in the school.

#1 To stop bullying, the main characters run for student council and create a party called "The No Name Party."

Wonder:
#7~ August, ten year old boy, is told by his mother, Isabel, that she believes that August is ready to go to school the first time. He becomes super nervous at first and eventually agrees to join the 5th grade at Breecher Prep private school. He is nervous that people will make fun of his face and will criticize what he looks like on the outside.

#6~ At his first day of school, at lunch, he is surprised as well as the students when a girl named Summer appears to want to sit with him at lunch. One of her fellow friends suddenly walks over to the table and to sit back at the other table. Quickly, Summer denies the offer and offers for her to come and sit with them. The girl stomps away in fury and leaves the scene.

#5~ The plague at Beecher prep, I believe was not very nice towards Auggie. If you had touched august at school, then you would have the plague or Cheese touch as they called it in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. So, students would go around the school avoiding to touch August in any way possible

#4~ Halloween was a nightmare in every way possible. August having one of his friends, or so he thought was his friend, turn against him is not such a good thing to happen to someone especially when it happens right in front of you. On Halloween, August had worn the costume of Scream, and wasn't noticed by Jack, his so called friend, and talked about him behind his back in a not so nice way.

#3~ For Jack to punch Julian i the face the way he had really had shown that Jack is brave in his own way. To stick up for Auggie the way had took guts and I don't think I would have been able to do that. This was a sign of showing August that he was sorry for what he had said and had shown that he would even punch a guy if he had to for his friends.

#2~ When August's dog, Daisy, had passed away, was a upsetting time for August. Daisy was like a teddy bear or a friend that he could tell anything to if he wanted. When she had died, it was as if he had lost a dear friend. Loosing someone you love is hard to do and I can relate since I have lost dogs that I have loved and worshiped very much so.

#1~ Towards the end of the story, when the Beecher Prep kids stayed over at a campsite for two whole days, was a turning point in the novel. The last night of the camping was when it had all happend. While all of the students of Beecher Prep and other schools were watching a classic, Jack and Auggie had to go to the bathroom. Since the line for the bathroom was too long they had decided to go in the woods. After they went, they were stopped by a few seventh graders from a different school. The seventh graders had started to make fu of Auggust. Out of know where Miles and Henry jumped into save the day and to help them get away. Things went down in madness and all was solved later on.
